Pourya Salehi
Biography
From January 2017, Pourya works for ICLEI’s Urban Research Team which is responsible for ICLEI’s in-house knowledge production and also the interface of the organization with academia and scientific partner institutes. Having studied Urban Planning at University of Tehran, Pourya gained professional experience through working for urban and environmental consultancies. He graduated with his MSc in Land Management from Technical University of Munich (TUM) in 2016.
Prior to joining ICLEI, Pourya worked as researcher in the field of disaster resilience for the Institute of Geodesy and Geoinformation (IGG) at University of Bonn. In addition to authoring various briefing sheets and case studies in the form of ICLEI’s knowledge production, he has also authored and co-authored both peer-reviewed and non-reviewed publications in scientific journals and conferences; mainly in the areas of Sustainable Urban Development, Disaster Risk Reduction, Urban Resilience, Critical Infrastructure Resilience, Renewable Energies, and Sustainable Mobility.
